The first time in Britain thirty paintings by the renowned Dutch artist Gaspar van Wittel (1652/3-1736) have been presented in a solo exhibition. Known to many as Vanvitelli, this exhibition brings exciting new scholarly research to light and includes works that have never been seen by the public before, showing key examples the artist completed during the early 1700s in Rome, its surrounding countryside as well as Naples, Florence, Bologna, Venice and some areas of Lombardy.
